How to research a company before you apply
A job advert tells you what the role needs. A company profile tells you whether the employer is worth your time. Spend ten minutes on these steps before you send an application.
- Confirm the employer is real. Check for a verified badge, a working website, a physical location and a named industry. Be cautious of any employer that asks for payment to apply or interview.
- Understand what they do. Read the description, mission and vision on the profile so your cover letter speaks to the organisation instead of repeating the job title.
- Check the location and size. County, city and company size tell you about commute, remote options and how structured the hiring process is likely to be.
- Look at their hiring activity. An employer with several live roles is actively growing. Compare related vacancies to see which teams are expanding.
- Tailor, then apply. Mention one specific thing you learned about the company, and apply before the closing date shown on the job page.

What does "Verified employer" mean on JobOoro?
A verified employer is a company whose profile has been reviewed and approved by our team before it appears in this directory. Look for the badge on each card, and use the Verified only filter to narrow the list.
How do I know a company is really hiring?
Open-role counts only include jobs that are published, approved, not past their closing date and not expired. If a role closes or expires, it drops out of the count automatically. The Hiring now filter shows only employers with at least one live role.
How often is the directory updated?
Employer profiles are updated when companies change their details, and open-role counts are calculated live every time you load the page. The date at the top of the page shows when a profile in the directory last changed.
Can I find employers in a specific county or industry?
Yes. Use the industry, country and county selectors in the search panel, or tap a county or industry in the browse sections below. You can combine them with keyword search and the hiring filter.
How can my company be listed?
Employers can create an account, complete their company profile and submit it for verification. Once approved, the company appears here and its published jobs are linked to the profile.
